Step by Step:

STEP 1: Check to see if you’re eligible to vote

From Register to Vote, via. USA.gov:

“To be eligible to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen. In most states, you must be 18 years old to vote, but some states do allow 17 year olds to vote. States also have their own residency requirements to vote. For additional information about state-specific requirements and voter eligibility, contact your state election office.”

STEP 2: Check your current registration status

Am I already registered to Vote? Check here.

STEP 3: Register to vote

  • Register to Vote Online, Drivers Licence must match home address to use this option
  • Mail-in voter registration forms
  • Oct. 11th is the last day for mail-in registration
  • Nov. 1st is the last day for in-person and online registration
  • Salt Lake County is also participating in a pilot program passed by the Legislature allowing registration on Election Day at a Voting Center. You will be given a provision ballot.

STEP 4: Valid ID required to vote

If you don’t have the required photo ID, you may be given a provisional ballot , or you may not be allowed to vote at all. Contact the Clerks office if you have any questions.
