Past Party Participation
I am currently a State Delegate for my Precinct. I have helped in numerous Meet the Candidates’ campaigns. I recently helped to arrange the first meet and greet of candidates in White City for GOP Candidates. I am actively involved in attending SCC meetings without having been elected to represent Salt Lake County. I am a big supporter of the caucus system. I believe it gives the party the opportunity to better vet the candidates one on one or in a group setting. State and County Delegates play a big role when they do their job as they should in vetting the candidates. I am also the Marketing Coordinator for the Utah Shooting Sports Council. Another all-Volunteer organization fighting for Utah Citizens Gun Rights.
Additional information about candidate
As a member of the SCC I would like to see the Committee better involved in vetting candidates. The SCC needs to be helping precincts become better informed of what their delegates are finding out. In the day of social media it's imperative that we use technology to better inform those in the precincts about what the candidates are doing so that we elect solid candidates to office. Many of our GOP elected officials are operating as Progressives and Socialists and have used their positions to further themselves and their ambitions, and as such we need to be doing a better job locating and vetting better candidates willing to follow the Local and National Platform of the party and the Constitution. Especially the 2nd Amendment. It has been mentioned and I support the idea of not giving the Governor nor Legislators a vote on the SCC. Allowing them to double dip the power they have is not how we improve the party or the SCC. Some have even used their legislative power to undermine the SCC in the past. This needs to end. The SCC is a committee with the word Commit inside of it. Being elected is not a commitment but showing up is. The Committee has to work as a team and when ½ of the team fails to show up, in any job the boss would terminate them. You are now the boss and you now have the power to remove those who fail to show up. We need to become more fiscally responsible in how we spend the money we take in as donations. And we need not as a party to be supporting candidates who divert donations to their own special groups for their own special use such as the Buckshot Caucus or Reagan Round Table. Those doing so under the GOP banner need to be exposed for who and what they are, and the GOP need no longer support them. I believe I can help in areas that can bring us fiscally sound again while working with others to do the same.
Attendance for many Salt Lake County SCC members has been terrible. 15 out of 29 SCC Members in the last 2 years have missed 3 or more meetings, one even 7. We are not represented when they fail to show up and some of them are running now. We need accountability and currently there are many issues that are far too big to be giving passes on attendance no matter who, or the circumstances including Legislators. For the party to improve it needs full participation and not a part timer or (timers) who only shows up when it’s convenient. I ask you to tell them with your vote, we have had enough and it’s time for you to move on. We need a standard to be followed of replacement of anyone missing 3 or more meetings no matter the excuse. Please see the link under my picture to the attendance record and scroll down to Salt lake County then look to the right of the name to who has missed 3 or more meetings and decide is it worth it to elect committed representation or do you want people who fail you when they don’t show up? I hope you want committed representation because that is what I will give you.
Thank you for your consideration...
