FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ZIONS BANK PRESIDENT SCOTT ANDERSON THREATENS TO SUE THE SALT LAKE COUNTY GOP
SALT LAKE COUNTY GOP IS FORCED TO RAISE FUNDS TO DEFEND ITSELF AGAINST POSSIBLE LITIGATION FROM ZIONS BANK. The Salt Lake County GOP recently brought attention to the apparent cover-up of now-Congressmen Ben McAdams who allegedly spent $10 million behind closed doors, violating the State's Open and Public Meetings law. Very credible sources report Scott Anderson, President of Zions Bank, is threatening to sue the Salt Lake County GOP for posting a video and some email and audio quotes on its Facebook page questioning Zions Bank's possible involvement in the McAdams cover-up.
The video and quotes question Zions Bank and Zions Public Finance in their production of the erroneous and misleading Mountain Accord Transparency Report that appeared to have been an effort to cover-up now-Congressman Ben McAdams alleged violation of the Open and Public Meetings Act (OPMA).
Due to the very serious threats by Zions Bank President Scott Anderson, the Salt Lake County GOP is forced to raise money in anticipation of litigation. Zions Bank has enormous resources and assets of approximately $70 Billion; the Salt Lake County GOP does not.
"The Salt Lake County GOP is prepared to defend itself against Zions Bank, against Scott Anderson, and against intimidation tactics. We are confident in our evidence and the facts", says Scott Miller, SLCoGOP Chair. Miller continues, "McAdams and Scott Anderson seem more interested in covering up possible illegal actions than being forthcoming to taxpayers, voters, and Zions Bank shareholders".
The intimidation tactics and threats of a lawsuit by Scott Anderson raise even more questions. Please see below the letter Chairman Scott Miller sent to Zions Bank President Scott Anderson, Zions Executives, and Zions Advisory Board members.

Re: Mr. Scott Anderson's threat of litigation against the SLCo GOP
Dear Zions Bank President Scott Anderson, Zions Executives, and Zions Advisory Board of Directors,
I have recently been told by numerous, well-respected individuals, that Zions Bank and or Scott Anderson intends to sue the Salt Lake County Republican Party (SLCo GOP), of which I am the Chair. I have also been told Mr. Anderson intends to sue "the lady in the video", who I assume is Ms. Susan Becker, a Vice President at Zions Public Finance, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zions Bank.
It is my understanding these threats are due to certain items posted on the SLCo GOP's Facebook page including a video and quotes from emails and audio recordings relating to Zions Public Finance, then-Mayor, now Congressman Ben McAdams, Mountain Accord, etc. Mr. Anderson's threats of litigation are not only concerning, but they raise several serious questions that include:
1. Is Scott Anderson speaking for himself with these threats?
2. Is Scott Anderson speaking on behalf of Zions Bank, Zions Public Finance, or any other organization(s) when he threatens such litigation?
3. Does Scott Anderson have the consent of you, the Zions Bank Executives, and Zions Advisory Board of Directors, with his threat to sue the SLCo GOP?
4. Do Scott Anderson's threats against Ms. Susan Becker qualify as retaliation?
5. Is Mr. Anderson in violation of ZIONS BANCORPORATION Code of Business Conduct and Ethics as adopted from the SEC by Zions' board of directors?
6. Is Mr. Anderson in violation of any other applicable laws or regulations?
Thank you for considering these questions and I look forward to your prompt response.
Sincerely,
Scott Miller
Salt Lake County GOP - Chair
